Municipal Campground in
Notre-Dame-de-Monts
Nestled in the heart of the Pays de Monts national forest, 400 meters from the beach and 500 meters from local shops, the L’Orgatte municipal campground welcomes you to a preserved natural setting that is both wild and authentic. Here, there are no rental units—only sites for tents, trailers, and RVs, spread across more than 5 hectares of wooded land, with a total of 299 sites. This is a deliberate choice by the municipality to preserve the natural environment and offer everyone a rare quality of life. The campground’s very name speaks volumes: “Orgatte, ” in the Maraîchin dialect, refers to land cultivated by humans within a forested area. Since 1968, this campground in the Vendée has embodied that same spirit: natural, friendly, and authentic.
